IN THE NEWS: Climate. 18 February 2021.

Parts of Texas are without power and water due to a Winter Storm which caused a large portion of the state-owned power grid to fail. So far 21 people have been confirmed dead, many due to hypothermia and Carbon Dioxide poisoning.  Although the Governor claimed the failure was due to the renewable energy sector, the actual cause was (mostly) due to frozen natural gas lines.

Scientists looking at the bigger picture confirm the Storm is yet another symptom of the Climate Crisis.

Note: Renewable energy resources only account for about 7% of their grid. Also,  investigators have discovered ERCOT, who manages the system, opted for less expensive wind turbines rather than ones with heated blades.
