Saturday Storm

The predicted snowstorm has arrived. Wind driven pellets reducing visibility to one-tenth of a mile. Offer up good wishes and prayers for all who travel this night. Make sure this is an Over the river and through the woods  this year and not an Over the woods and through the river holiday season. Drive Safely. Appoint a Designated Driver. Be a True Friend.

Nope. That's not a picture of the storm. That's one of the many reasons this blog hasn't been updated.

This little green-eyed lamb is made of soft fleece. He and the rest of his clan will soon be making an appearance on Petunia Magpie: The Shop.

Earlier today the 'Winter Workroom' (i.e., the sofa and table closest to the wood stove) looked like a storm had hit. Apparently someone didn't latch the floss box securely when they put it away. All the lovely little numbered and arranged cardboard thingies fell out into the bottom of the floss stash bag. The punishment for disobedience? Pick up and re-sort. *sigh*

You can see from the tomato pincushion that the floss box isn't very big. About 11" x 9".

If you look closely at the bag you'll see the logo "Foxfire Holler Farm Spin A Yarn". Surely do miss that West Jefferson, NC shop.  Was a great place to sit and knit a spell. The farm is still in business - best organic poultry in the mountains. Blessed be, Nancy.

Once the floss was back together, work continued on the 'critters' for Petunia Magpie.

Watched an interesting video about some local small business owners. Inspiring. Lots of common sense, but like my old boss used to say "Common sense isn't all that common."

Lunch break is almost over. Coffee and chocolate covered graham crackers.

Oh yeah: What do you think about the table the little lamb is sitting on... Here it is at a different angle.

A carpenter has been contacted to make "what-not"s for me to paint. This drop-leaf table is from my personal collection. Would you purchase something hand-painted like this?

Back to work.
