Sunday - A traditional day of rest

Pictured here is Bandit at just a few months old. What I often refer to as his teen-age years. Look at those ears. How could you not love that silly little face?

Today was officially 'old movie' Sunday. Saw Steven King's IT and John Carter. Horror and quasi- sci-fi (Edgar Rice Burroughs would be offended).

Now the only sound is the crackle and spit of the fire as it works its way through some sweet smelling cherry. Well, that and
the dog and two cats. Poor kitties. He just wants to sniff them! There's not a mean bone in his body. Regardless of what the post mistress has to say. lol

I've had Petunia Magpie on my mind for a while now. Very hard to turn off the old brain simply because it's Sunday.

I compared it to my other Etsy site: Tole You So and it's respective blog. Not exactly Winesap to Winesap, but perhaps Winesap to Fuji.

The Tole You So blog has 83 posts with well over a thousand page views. Petunia Magpie - a mere 16 posts with 163 page views. The ratios are similar enough. One started in March, the other in June. Yet the tone of Tole You So is so much more "me" than Petunia Magpie.

I started Petunia Magpie blog with the intention of chronicling the process of putting a profitable website up. But something was lacking. IMHO - it's the personal touch. I'm accustomed to telling stories to get a point across and I've been trying to "stick to business" with Petunia Magpie. To not let my personal life become part of the shop and blog. But how could it not?

Evidently something is lacking on the site as well (only one sale). Product descriptions are similar. The targeted audiences are very different. Tole You So is a more shall-we-say upscale client (although the smaller pieces are affordable to all). Petunia Magpie are Moms, Aunties and Grandmothers. Perhaps the economy plays a part. Or time of year.

I've checked prices (to see if mine are too high) and mine are actually on the low side. If I used some of my good stash (merino wool and angora) I could raise prices on the toys I made with that.

What I'm trying to say is that I'm not ready to give up yet. This old girl has some fight left in her after all. lol

Prepare yourselves though. This blog is about to get a lot less business-like. I'm hoping that y'all will be my sounding board. What do you say? Comments are welcome. Political correctness is optional.

Here's my handsome dog all grown up. Still very sweet. You can see he's grown into those ears :)
